As Public Advocate for New York City, I will bring extensive knowledge of the N.Y.C. school system, hospitals, HMOs, real estate and business. I will make sure that every child in both general and special education gets the best education they need and deserve. Teachers will receive better pay, smaller class sizes, and workable conditions in schools. Tenants’ rights will be enforced by insisting on new, middle and low income housing. Rent stabilization and rent control will remain intact.

Transportation will be improved by building the Second Avenue subway and establishing water buses on the rivers. Senior citizens will have a choice on how to maintain their pensions and Social Security. The quality of life in New York City will be constantly watched to keep it livable and enjoyable.
