I am running for City
Council because of my concern for each of our neighborhoods,
my background in city affairs, and commitment of
continuing the achievements of the Honorable Mary
Pinkett.
Appointed by Councilwoman Pinkett and Boro President
Golden to Community Board 9 and voted to its Executive
Committee, I have worked with Community Boards to
enhance the quality of life, safety, beauty and
greenery of our community, opposed a power plant
on the Gowanus Canal, and Williamsburg incinerators,
and supported our minigardens.
My priorities are in education. We are all
endowed by our Creator with great ability. The core
values of self-respect, discipline and achievement
serve our youth well. We must prioritize
school construction now and bring in the
highest quality teachers. I am encouraging such
efforts by City Councilwoman Una Clarke, a noted
expert on education. I support programs for Special
Education and the establishment of the Jackie Robinson
School for talented students, and will work with
Medgar Evers College to coordinate educational advancement
for all of our youth.
Our children should be given the opportunity to
observe a “moment of silence”, providing
a daily anchor in a turbulent world. I was pleased
by the positive results of school uniforms as implemented
by School District 17.
Police protection should be ample and equitable.
I support programs that encourage Police and School
Children to respect one another. A good Community
starts with our youth and extends to our senior
citizens. I will work with Hospitals towards reducing
infant mortality.
Experienced in real estate, I support improvements
that have taken place on Flatbush Avenue. In the
past 8 years merchants kept their stores open at
night.

all members of the community as your councilman.
