This election year offers a great opportunity for community activists to get elected to the New York City Council, in order to bring about necessary programs which will better the lives of the residents of New York. I have been active in community affairs for over ten years and have achieved significant accomplishments working within community groups.

The needs of seniors are a top priority for me. Members of the new City Council must ensure the availability of programs and services for our seniors. Those who have worked to help build this city should not be ignored or abandoned.

The health care system must adapt to the changing needs of our residents. Local clinics and support services should be available to all. The wise use of our financial resources can cut overall costs, making the health care delivery system a better one. My background in this field puts me in a strong position to be a knowledgeable advocate for reform.

Our educational system must not be allowed to deteriorate. Parents, teachers and school administrators must come together and make necessary changes in our approach to public education. Facilities have to be improved. Attitudes towards the educational process who it serves, must be at the heart of rebuilding the system. This means hard choices for all concerned. The educational needs of our children must be the core of any proposals.

Quality of life issues which touch upon us daily must be monitored by those in elective office. It is the responsibility of representatives to act swiftly and responsibly, improving the quality of our city and its neighborhoods.
