1. What is the most important issue in City Council District 31 you would address if elected?

For the 31st Council District to fully thrive we must ensure that each community receives essential resources. Communities throughout the district have been devastated by Sandy, and we need to rebuild our homes, businesses, and community now. I will lead the fight to get our fair share of city, state and federal rebuilding funds, and make sure we have a seat at the table making decisions about the direction of the Southeast Queens community.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Improving our schools, creating jobs, improving healthcare and increasing public safety throughout the district. We need to give parents more and better options of schools and programs for their kids. Companies that get tax breaks must actually create jobs in our community. Our community lacks access to quality health care due to hospital closures in Southeast Queens and the Rockaways, threatening our neighbors’ wellbeing.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

In my career, I have a track record of taking on tough fights and winning. I’ll provide the strong, experienced leadership we need to rebuild our schools, economy and communities. As a homeowner and lifelong Southeast Queens resident I’ll support small businesses, and find new funding streams to create positive outlets for our youth like strong afterschool programs, and protect our senior centers, parks and libraries.
