| Jon Del Giorno has
given his time, energy and experience to civic and
community organizations in our North Shore communities.
Jon helped stop the proposed auto racetrack in
Stapleton, worked to get the City to construct
a parking lot for Cromwell Center in Tompkinsville
and to have graffiti and garbage removed in St.
George and the North Shore Esplanade Plaza.
Jon worked against the MTA proposal to stage
buses in West Brighton and with People United
to Close the Dump to have the landfill closed.
He opposed the construction of a power plant in
Clifton.
He had traffic lights readjusted in Bulls Head
at Richmond and Lander Avenues and worked to have
a street median installed Mariners Harbor by Forest
and Van Pelt Avenues to make these communities
safer.
Jon has extensive legislative and governmental
experience. For Council Members he managed City
Hall and community offices, tracked City Budget
capital projects, drafted legislation and was
the liaison to the Office of Management and Budget.
As Assistant to Staten Island’s Deputy Borough
he coordinated intergovernmental relations and
monitored City agency performance on Staten Island.
As the Administrative Manager of the City’s Board
of Elections, he oversees an over $30 million
budget and the central managerial staff, is the
liaison to City agencies, Federal Elections Commission
and the US Department of Justice.
