| Ed Roberts served
honorably in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War
and because of his leadership abilities and commitment
to justice for all he was elected to the Ft. Carson
Racial Harmony Council, which was created to promote
racial harmony on the military base.
Upon separation from the military he attended
City College of the City University of New York,
where he earned his B.A. Degree in Economics.
While at City College, he was elected to the position
of Chairman of the University Student Senate,
which represented approximately 225, 000 students
attending City University. During his tenure as
Chairman of the City University Student Senate
he was appointed as the first student-voting member
of the CUNY Board of Trustees.
After graduating from City College he attended
St. John’s University Law School in Jamaica New
York.
Upon successful graduation from St. John’s Law
School, Ed Roberts worked for the New York State
Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR),
where he advanced to the position of Associate
Attorney. He was one of the authors of the Rent
Stabilization Code for rent-stabilized apartments
in New York City.
Subsequently he became the Deputy Director and
Housing Unit Director at Bedford-Stuyvesant Community
Legal Service Corp., where he was responsible
for providing legal representation to residents
of the area who lacked sufficient financial resources
to hire a private attorney.
Since 1991, Attorney Ed Roberts has been in private
practice in many areas of the law, with his office
in Mid-Brooklyn. He represents many tenants and
homeowners, in preserving their homes.
