Newly elected councilmembers serve two-year terms and with at least 34 new members, you need a representative who already understands the workings of city-government. My extensive experience and community involvement bring proven ability to work simultaneously with various city-agencies to produce results. My record of achievement is well-documented and unparalleled among my opponents.

As a health-care professional, I managed budgets and union negotiations, played a key role in expansion and modernization of citywide hospitals, and served as Director of Government & Community Affairs for the Health & Hospitals Corporation at Elmhurst Medical Center. As a Senior Specialist with the NYC Department for the Aging, I developed effective programs for the elderly and brought new senior centers to the district.

Education is a priority! I helped initiate the plan for expansion of P.S. 69 and I.S. 145. I’ll continue to work for reduced class-size, the latest technology and textbooks, programs to increase parental involvement in the educational process, more after-school programs, and the restructuring of salaries at all levels of education.

I believe in neighborhood-policing and will emphasize the expansion of these programs. I helped establish the 115th Police Precinct and Roosevelt Avenue Anti-Crime Task Force. I was honored as “Woman of the Year” by the 115th Precinct Community Council and intend to fight for increased manpower for enforcement of existing laws to make our streets safer, cleaner and quieter!
