Former New York State Senator Larry B.
Seabrook is a democrat with a solid pro taxpayer
and pro public safety record, focused on increasing
senior citizens benefits, crime prevention, job
training and development for all the residents
of the district.
The Senate Democratic leadership, in recognition
of Senator Seabrook’s expertise and respect he
has earned from his colleagues, was appointed
as the Democratic Conference Assistant Minority
Whip.
As a former chairman on Equal Opportunity, Senator
Seabrook directed an investigation into discriminatory
hiring by employment agencies. His strong efforts
resulted in legislation that increases criminal
penalties for civil rights violations.
As the former chairman of the New York State Black
and Puerto Rican Legislative Caucus Inc., he led
the fight for budget restoration. As the former
chairman of the Assembly’s sub-committee on Drug
Use, Senator Seabrook instituted and introduced
a tough anti-drug agenda. This plan included the
“Drug Trader Arrest and Conviction Program”
(DTAC), which is credited with approximately one
thousand drug-related arrests in his district,
and resulted in strong support and recognition
from the State Capitol. The DTAC program has earned
the praise of the New York Daily News which stated
“If ever there was a gold medal in the war
against drugs, Assemblyman Larry Seabrook should
be considered.”
I, Larry B. Seabrook, will continue to lead the
fight on education in our community and create
job opportunity centers and provide our community
with much needed day care services. A living wage
should be our top priority for this new administration,
and I will lead that fight.
