1. What is the most important issue in Council District 41 you would address if elected?

Low and Affordable Housing: The median income in District 41 is approximately $28,000. Low and affordable housing in the community are being priced out of reach for many longtime residents. Too many residents are finding it harder and harder to afford a rental unit in the community, let alone being able to save towards homeownership. Preventing homelessness.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Education: Statistics show that many of our children are not reading at grade level, are not testing within the math standard for their grade level, and have not been properly prepared to enter college. We must prepare our children so that they are armed with the necessary tools to succeed not just within NYC but across America.

Seniors: We need programs to educate our seniors on property taxes and predatory lending.

Health: Hospitals are underfunded and residents are not receiving the latest life-saving technology. We must bring funding for quality health services into our community.

Recreation Centers: We need centers where residents can go for recreation and receive training in the latest technology.

Arts and Culture: Our community is in need of cultural facilities.

Commercial Corridors: We need vibrant commercial corridors that can provide jobs for the community.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

The 21st century has brought about new technology. We now have the opportunity to bring forth new ideas and visions into the community and to incorporate them with new technology. Our community needs a councilwoman who dares to dream of a better quality of life for, and is passionate about, her community. I am that candidate.
