2016 General Election  Voter Guide

Welcome

Guide to the General Election – Tuesday, November 8, 2016

No matter where we stand on the issues, most of us can agree that this historic election cycle has inspired many to come together and lobby for the changes we need in order to move forward in the best way possible, for as many Americans as possible. On November 8th, registered voters throughout the country will be casting their votes for president, US Congress, and state and local offices in the general election. Make sure your voice is heard, and exercise your right to choose the change that you want to see in the world!

The deadline to register to vote in this year’s general election was October 14th. If you’re not sure if you are registered to vote, check the NY Board of Elections Voter Registration Search tool. And learn more about the candidates who are up for election this November through the Voter’s Edge NY online voter guide, brought to you by the Campaign Finance Board in conjunction with MapLight. MapLight is a nonpartisan research organization that reveals money’s influence on politics, and Voter’s Edge was initially launched to shine a light on the funders behind ballot measures in California. It has since expanded to provide comprehensive coverage on federal, state, and local elections in California, Illinois, and New York.

To learn more about the judicial races that will be on your ballot, please visit the official NY State Judicial Candidate Voter Guide, which has information about the judgeships and their candidates.
